Mantras for Precarious
Times
Deva Premal
CD AUD29.95

|
|
This powerful new CD from Prabhu
Music features Deva Premal as she demonstrates
the healing quality of mantras when chanted in
the traditional way - 108 times.
Each track is 7-9 minutes in length.
According to the ancient Vedic scriptures, our
bodies - physical and subtle - contain 72,000
energy channels, which are called Nadis. There
are 108 major Nadis that meet in the 'Sacred Heart'
(hrit padma).
By chanting a mantra 108 times,
the energy permeates the entire body through these
energy channels. "I offer these mantras with
the prayer that they will inspire and bless your
life, as they have mine." - Deva Premal.

Chakra Balancing Yoga
Sharon Gannon
DVD AUD34.95

|
|
This one-hour practice is a healing
practice for both the body and spirit. In Yogic
tradition, the human body has seven energy centers
called chakras.
When these energy centers are healthy
and open, so are we, physically, emotionally,
and in our relationships. But when they are blocked
through injury, illness, or disconnection from
others, we are blocked from being our best selves.
In this unique program, renowned
yogini Sharon Gannon guides you through poses,
affirmations, and mantras (simple chants) that
open and balance the chakras.
More than a series of exercises,
this is a complete mind-body-spirit practice.
Your energy flowers and your life force flows.
You feel a new sense of happiness, peace, and
wholeness.

Departures
Yojiro Takita (Director)
DVD AUD34.95

|
|
Academy Award® winner
for Best Foreign Language Film, Departures
is a delightful journey into the heartland
of Japan as well an astonishingly beautiful
look at a sacred part of Japan's cultural
heritage.
Departures follows Daigo Kobayashi,
a devoted cellist in an orchestra that has
just been dissolved and who is suddenly
left without a job.
Daigo decides to move back
to his old hometown with his wife to look
for work and start over. He answers a classified
ad entitled "Departures" thinking
it is an advertisement for a travel agency
only to discover that the job is actually
for a Nokanshi, a traditional funerary celebrant
who prepares bodies for entry into the next
life.
While his wife and others
despise the job, Daigo takes a certain pride
in his work and begins to perfect the art
of Nokanshi, acting as a gentle gatekeeper
between life and death, between the departed
and the family of the departed. Daigo experiences
a profound and sometimes comical journey
as he uncovers the wonder, joy and meaning
of life and living.
